A working farm in Browns Valley, Connolly Ranch offers engaging, hands-on educational programs designed to meet California state standards for each grade level. Watch as science, language arts, history, physical education and nutrition come to life while your students enjoy learning in the great outdoors. In addition to spending time with our farm animals, our field trips teach the sources and benefits of healthy foods and an understanding of how nature works to nourish us.
Our field trips take place Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m – 1:00 p.m and include time visiting the animals, educational games, a nutrition lesson, and garden activity. All field trips are subsidized 80-100%, with the cost generally being $5 per student, or free to Title I schools.
Please let us know if your students are learning something specific in class that can fit into a hands-on lesson at the ranch. Other stations can include: cooking, hiking, nature art or writing projects, Wappo Native American history, environmental education, oak woodland ecology, and more.
