In English & Spanish: Day 4: Catch The Firefly!
Fireflies are interesting beetles who produce light to help find mates! Firefly light is usually intermittent, and flashes in patterns that are unique to each species. Although we don’t have fireflies in California, we do have a fun game which allows us to imitate them!
Here’s a game for the whole family! Wait until the sun goes down and then try and catch the firefly!
Here’s How It Works:
One person who is the firefly takes a small pin style flashlight (or whatever flashlight you have) and goes into the dark while the others wait. The firefly counts to 30 then will flash the light once.
He/she is constantly moving to avoid being captured by the others. Whoever captures the firefly wins!
Dia 4: ¡Atrapa la luciérnaga!
¡Las luciérnagas son escarabajos interesantes que producen luz para ayudar a encontrar pareja! La luz de las luciérnagas suele ser intermitente y parpadea en patrones que son únicos para cada especie. Aunque no tenemos luciérnagas en California, ¡tenemos un juego divertido que nos permite imitarlas!
¡Aquí tienes un juego para toda la familia! ¡Espera hasta que se meta el sol y luego intenta atrapar la luciérnaga!
Así es como funciona:
Una persona que es la luciérnaga toma una pequeña linterna tipo alfiler (o cualquier linterna que tengas) y te adentras en la oscuridad mientras los demás esperan. La luciérnaga cuenta hasta 30 y luego destellarás la luz una vez.
Estáte en constante movimiento para evitar ser capturado por los demás. ¡Quien capture la luciérnaga gana!
