In English & Spanish: Day 5: Dirt You Made My Lunch
Friday music day is here! This is a fan favorite at Connolly Ranch and we sing it before meals as a fun reminder of where our food comes from.

Dirt is a word we often use, when we’re talking about the earth beneath our shoes.
It’s a place where plants can sink their toes, and in a little while a garden grows.

A farmer’s plow will tickle the ground. You know the earth has laughed when wheat is found.
The grain is taken and flour is ground for making a sandwich to munch on down.
(Chorus)
A stubby green beard grows upon the land. Out of the soil, the grass will stand.
But under hoof it must bow for making milk by way of a cow.
(Chorus)

Porque tierra, hiciste mi almuerzo.
Tierra es una palabra que usamos a menudo cuando hablamos de lo que hay debajo de nuestros zapatos en el campo.
Es un lugar donde las plantas pueden hundir los dedos de los pies y en poco tiempo crece un jardín.

El arado de un granjero hará cosquillas en el suelo. Sabes que la tierra se rió cuando se encontró trigo.
