Farm-To-Table Field Trips
Grades TK - 5th
Offer your students a chance to dive even deeper into the wonders of our Ranch! We’re bringing even more hands-on learning opportunities to enrich their experience around growing their own food, healthy eating, and working together as a culinary team.
Here’s what students can look forward to:
Meet the Animals: Engage with our friendly farm animals and learn about their vital role in the farm-to-table process. Understanding how animals contribute to our food system adds an essential layer to the learning experience.
Wild Space Adventures: Explore our natural surroundings and gain insights into identifying both edible and inedible plants. This exploration helps students appreciate the rich biodiversity of our environment.
Educational Garden Exploration: Delve into our educational garden, where students will see where their food comes from and get hands-on experience in cultivating and preparing their own farm-fresh snacks.
Taste the Rainbow: Discover the vibrant flavors of our garden with seasonal menus that highlight the best produce each season has to offer. From colorful fall boards and warming winter soups to fresh, vibrant spring flatbreads, each visit will showcase a unique and delicious culinary adventure. See the Seasonal Farm-to-Table menus below.
Seasonal Menus:
Fall (September-December):
This Fall, we’ll harvest fresh tomatoes, figs, radishes, and apples, shake up our own butter, and prepare a healthy, vegan, nut-free pesto to spread on sourdough bread. Everyone will get to help create and share seasonal boards for a delicious and memorable experience!
Winter (January-March):
This Winter, we'll cozy up with hearty vegetable soup! Students will use fresh carrots, leeks, celery, and potatoes to create a delicious, warming treat. It’s the perfect way to savor farm-fresh flavors and stay cozy during the colder months!
Spring (April-June):
This Spring, we’ll craft delicious flatbreads from scratch! Students will make their own dough and top it with fresh pesto, arugula, tomatoes, and herbs. It’s a delightful way to celebrate the season and savor the vibrant flavors of spring together.
