In English & Spanish: Indoors with Nature: Recycled Materials; Farm Animal Challenge
Here at Connolly Ranch we believe that materials that usually end up in the recycle bin can always be reused or repurposed into beautiful artwork. Farmers big and small have made some incredibly creative pieces of art over the years here at the Ranch! With this activity we invite you to participate in our Recycled Materials Farm Animal Challenge for the chance to be featured on our website as an ‘eco-art expert’. Please read below for more information.
Opening Questions:
What are some animals that might live on a farm?
What is one of your favorite animals at Connolly Ranch and why?
What does the word ‘recycle’ mean to you?
Here’s What You'll Need:
Items from your Recycle Bin (paper towel rolls, cereal boxes, yogurt cups, etc.)
Glue or Tape
Scissors
Paint, Markers, or Crayons
Optional: Cotton balls, popsicle sticks, craft paper, stickers, etc.
Instructions:
Gather a wide variety of recycled materials from your home and spread them out on a flat surface. Brainstorm which farm animal you would like to create using the materials you have gathered. Once you have decided on the animal, use your recycled materials and start creating! (Extra points for creating a Connolly Ranch animal). When your artwork is complete, take a photo and send it to maria@connollyranch.org to enter our recycled art contest. Winner’s creation will be featured on our website!
Interiores y la Naturaleza: Materiales Reciclables - Reto de los Animales de la Granja
En Connolly Ranch creemos que los materiales que usualmente terminan en el reciclaje siempre pueden ser reusados o recuperados mediante hermosos trabajos de arte. !Granjeros grandes y pequeños han hecho algunas increíbles y creativas piezas de arte en el rancho a través de los años! Con esta actividad te invitamos a que participes en nuestro Reto de los Animales de la Granja con Materiales Reciclables para obtener la oportunidad de ser distinguido en nuestra página de la red como un experto de arte ecológico por favor lee más adelante para mayor información.
Materiales:
Objetos de tu bote de reciclaje (Rollos de toallas de papel, cajas de cereal, recipientes de yogurt, etc.)
Pegamento o cinta adhesiva
Tijeras
Pintura, marcadores o crayolas
Opcional: Bolas de algodón, palitos de paletas, papel construcción, calcamonias, etc.
Instrucciones:
Reúne una amplia variedad de materiales reciclables de tu casa y extiendelos en un área plana. Piensa qué animal de granja te gustaría crear usando materiales que has reunido. Una vez que hayas decidido qué animal, usa tus materiales reciclados y ¡comienza a crear! (Tendrás puntos extras si creas un animal de Connolly Ranch). Cuando tu trabajo de arte este completo, toma una foto y mándala a maria@connollyranch.org para entrar a nuestro concurso de arte reciclado. La creación del ganador será distinguida en nuestra página de la red.
